Weight Loss Surgery Options

A team of dedicated and trained medical professionals led by some of the state’s most experienced bariatric surgeons is what we have to offer. St. Elizabeth Hospital is accredited by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as an MBSAQIP facility (Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation Quality Improvement Program.

St. Elizabeth offers several surgical weight loss options:

Which option is best varies by the individual. All have been shown to offer a combination of weight loss and resolution of co-morbid conditions. However, there is no guarantee of success. Success depends on you!

Many patients wonder what they can expect with regard to weight loss after surgery. After undergoing a procedure such as a Vertical Sleeve or a Gastric Bypass, one can expect to lose up to 70% of their excess weight within 1-year of the procedure.

Typically, our patients will lose about 30% of excess body weight at three months post-operation, 50% at six months post-operation, and 70% at 1-year post operation While results vary, our surgeons will ensure you have all the tools you need to be successful.

Our goal is to provide comprehensive care and support for life-long weight control in a compassionate and understanding environment. To see if Weight Loss Surgery might be right for you, call (225) 621-2944.
